Why SASSIE Connector?

At LiveShopper SASSIE, we work with mystery shopping companies that have been using Presto for years -- and others that are just beginning to consider using a mobile data collection platform to enhance their field performance.  If you've been using SASSIE for years, and you know how to get results, you may feel reluctant to trust your projects to an unfamiliar platform.  

SASSIE Connector is the answer to these concerns.  SASSIE Connector is a new LiveShopper SASSIE feature that allows you to make the same shops available in both places, and "connect" them so that you don't end up with duplicate shops.  A connection is made between a SASSIE autosession and a Presto batch: if a shop is claimed on the Presto map, the same shop is removed from the connected SASSIE autosession, and if a shop is assigned in the SASSIE autosession, the pin for that shop is removed from the connected Presto map.

Rules and Limitations

SASSIE Connector is not appropriate for all projects.  Specifically:

• Only projects with one shop per location are supported
• Presto limitations such as batch location group quotas or batch group limits have no effect on the availability of shops in the SASSIE autosession.
• You must have the same locations with matching location IDs in the SASSIE autosession and the Presto batch group.  
• SASSIE Connector does not backfill. If shops were claimed in Presto prior to creating the connection, they will not be removed from the SASSIE autosession, and if shops were assigned in the SASSIE autosession prior to creating the connection,, they will not be removed from the Presto map. To avoid issues due to shops being assigned before the connection is made, do not schedule SASSIE shops and make sure that your Presto batch is private until the connection is made.

Setting up SASSIE Connector

The user interface for creating connections is in Presto and is available through a special permission that must be granted by Presto support.  The controller of the Presto PPP account for your company should contact support at support@prestomobilesurveys.com with the email addresses of those staff members who should have this permission.

Step 1: Make sure locations match

First, check that you have the same locations in both the Presto batch and the SASSIE autosession.  You can see the batch's locations in Batch Stats under Locations:

IMPORTANT: we recommend initially setting up the Presto batch as private and configuring the SASSIE autosession to not allow shoppers to self-assign.  This will allow you to complete step 2 below before any shops have been assigned.  Because SASSIE Connector does not backfill, it is important to establish the connection before any shops have been assigned in either Presto or SASSIE.

Step 2: Find the SASSIE client company

In Presto, select the company in the nav bar and go to https://insta.prestomobilesurveys.com/site/SASSIEConnector.  You will see a list of existing connections for this company:

Step 3: Connect the batch and autosession

Select the Presto batch and the SASSIE autosession that you want to connect, then click Create New Connection.

The dropdown will only display active Presto batches and only SASSIE autosessions with an end date no earlier than one month ago.

That's it!  The connection has been made!   If you need to delete it, just return to the page and click delete next to the connection.

Step 4: See it in action!

Now that the connection has been made, any time a shop is claimed in Presto, the same location is removed from the autosession, and any time a shop is assigned in the autosession, the corresponding pin is removed from the Presto map.  For example, if a shopper claims the shop at the City Hall location...

...the location is removed from the autosession.

Likewise, if the shop at the Downtown Crossing location is assigned in the autosession...

...the pin for that location is removed from the Presto map.
